The Peter G. Colton Memorial Fund has been established in honor of a great man who passed away suddenly in September of 2021.
Peter put everyone before himself. He was a family man above all, owner of renowned Boston sports bar The Fours, and star athlete for the UMass football team. Peter suffered a sudden stroke at the age of 66. He left us far too soon, but touched the lives of so many during his time.
The mission of the Peter G. Colton Memorial Fund is to continue his legacy of selflessness by providing financial aid to qualified student athletes.

As a scholarship recipient, Peter recognized and appreciated the opportunity that was given to him and always spoke proudly of his experience at UMass: the education he received, the friends he made and his membership on the team. He exemplified the original Massachusetts Minuteman spirit – there for family, friends, teammates and associates at a minute's notice.
We are proud to announce The Peter G. Colton UMass Football Scholarship – the first fully funded endowment scholarship for the university athletics department – established to create opportunities for future student athletes and to invest in the continuation of the Minuteman spirit.
